At MoreThanJustPictures, we don’t want to capture an awkwardly posed moment from a stressful evening — an evening that probably began weeks earlier with scheduling around karate and music lessons and work obligations. The preparation continued with a shopping trip for color coordinated outfits and led to stern conversations with children reminding them to be on their best behavior. By the time the family can actually get in front of the camera, everyone is so tired and frustrated that a faked smile and awkward pose is the best that anyone could hope for.
But here at MTJP, we are interested in capturing exactly who you are and creating a lasting record, not merely of a single afternoon, but rather of your personality, your family and your milestones. This is why we meet you; when you plan your portrait session with MTJP, think of a relaxed, natural setting that feels comfortable for you, perhaps even a place with memories, like a park, your home, an arboretum, a church, etc. If you need suggestions, we have lots of ideas and suggestions.
This is what makes us different and sets us apart. This is why we call ourselves “more than just pictures”. Because a picture shouldn’t just be a picture, and 1,000 words is just the beginning.
We are passionate about natural, honest, “real life” photography and enjoy outdoor and sentimental settings in a relaxed and natural environment. Indoor settings can easily be accommodated when needed.
We come to you, at whatever location you need within reason. All of this will be arranged during the pre-session meeting. Customer favorites are usually local parks, homes, waterfronts, arboretums, etc. Feel free to bring as many changes of clothing as you prefer for no additional cost. Just be aware of the location’s facilities for changing clothes.
The session costs $125 for the first two hours (which includes a CD archive with up to 50 photos), and every additional hour after that costs $50. Within 24 hours of your session, I will load and custom edit your photos, and you will be able to finalize your order that same day. I will re-shoot any session that you are unhappy with or refund a session payment. Once an order has been placed, however, order payment is non-refundable.
